How to resize JPG, PNG and WebP images

  1. Drop an image into the tool or select a file (up to 40 MB).
  2. Enter width and height in pixels or use a quick export preset.
  3. Keep “Lock aspect ratio” selected to avoid accidental stretching, or choose a fit mode.
  4. Select PNG, JPEG or WebP and download the output.

What is the difference between Fit, Fill and Stretch?

ModeEffect on your image
Fit (padding)Keeps the whole image visible, potentially adding borders
Fill (center crop)Fills the requested frame and trims image edges
StretchForces independent width and height, which can distort subjects

Common image export sizes

Try 1080 × 1080 for a square, 1080 × 1350 for a 4:5 portrait, 1080 × 1920 for 9:16 vertical, or 1280 × 720 for 16:9 landscape. Image requirements may vary by publishing platform.

Questions about resizing photos

Can I resize without distorting the picture?

Yes. Use Lock aspect ratio when editing dimensions. For a specific frame size, select Fit to keep everything or Fill to crop the edges.

Does making an image larger increase quality?

No. Upscaling creates more pixels through interpolation but cannot recreate missing source detail.

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. This site's resizer performs decoding, drawing and export locally using the browser's image and canvas APIs.

Why does a very large image fail to export?

Browser memory and canvas limits vary. This tool caps output at 35 megapixels for reliability; try lower dimensions if it fails.
